Our History

International Speakers Bureau began modestly in a home in San Angelo, Texas in 1992. After a career in the entertainment industry, Michelle Lemmons moved into the speaker business and with dogged determination ultimately booked Charles Kuralt as her first speaker. The following year Michelle opened the first International Speakers Bureau office in Dallas, Texas.

By 1996, the company had grown extensively - it established an interactive web presence, experienced its first million-dollar month and became the first bureau to provide speaker videos directly on its website among other innovations within the industry.

International Speakers Bureau was named the #26 Top Women Owned firm in Texas, the #1 Small Business in America Award from Sprint, Bank One acknowledged International Speakers Bureau as one of their Top Female Owned Businesses, and International Speakers Bureau was given credit for being one of Dallas' Top 100 Companies.
