As Minister of Labor and Social Security of Chile (1978-1980), Dr. José Piñera was the architect of Chile's successful private pension system.

Dr. Piñera has been invited to speak at Clinton's White House Summit on Social Security and to explain his Chilean reform to George W. Bush at his home in Austin.

He has met President Putin in his dacha outside Moscow and Prime Minister Romano Prodi at Palazzo Chigi in Rome.

He has testified at the Social Security Committee of the UK House of Commons invited by its Chairman, Labor MP Frank Field, and also at the U.S. Senate Banking Committee invited by its Chairman, Republican Senator Phil Gramm.

He has helped the Solidarity government in Poland and President Fox of Mexico. He has been visited in Santiago by parliamentary delegations from many countries, among them Sweden, China, Colombia, South Africa, Slovakia and Nigeria.

He has shared the podium with Alan Greenspan and Milton Friedman.

He has addressed the U.S. Business Roundtable and shared a panel with the Labor Ministers of France and Germany at the Davos World Economic Forum.

He has been a keynote speaker at Cato Institute Conferences in Beijing, Shanghai, Moscow, St Petersburg and London, and been invited to speak at conferences sponsored by private corporations, think tanks and universities.

Now, Dr. Piñera promotes all over the world the creation of pension systems based on personal retirement accounts. He does so with complete independence.

Dr. Piñera holds a Master and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Harvard University, has published numerous articles and written eight books.
