Charles Slepian has delivered keynote addresses and provided security consulting, training and protective services for more than three decades for government and the private sector. He has worked in many areas of security and terrorism including Aviation, Homeland, Corporate, Education, and Family security. As Founder of the Foreseeable Risk Analysis Center, he has been relied upon for commentary by the media for insights into security issues affecting how we live, work and travel since its inception in 1991.

Mr. Slepian has appeared in print in newspapers and periodicals circulated across the United States and around the globe. He has been in television studios and radio stations, on location and by telephone providing live commentary on unfolding security issues as they occur. He is a regular guest on news shows on all of the major networks and cable news channels, Public Broadcasting television and radio, Foreign News Networks in the U.K., Spain and Japan, and news magazines including Time and Newsweek. He provides commentary and debates on safety and security issues of interest and concern to all segments of society in all regions of the nation and in foreign nations as well. Since 9/11 Charles Slepian has been in the media over three hundred times and he has been widely interviewed in the broadcast media including; MSNBC, BBC, CNBC, CNN, FOX, and ABC.

His career as a security planner and practitioner began in the late 1960's during his service in the executive branch of New York City government where he served in the administration of Mayor John V. Lindsay; as Director of Tourism; and as Deputy Chief of Protocol. His assignments took him into the city streets during riots and civil disorders in periods of racial strife and the anti-war demonstrations of Viet Nam era. He was also tasked with developing security strategies for international leaders, including heads of state from around the world, during their visits to New York City on official business at the United Nations and in pursuit of other interests. His seven years in security operational roles in New York City government, groomed him for a career in security during which he continues to provide cutting edge analysis on issues of vulnerability to violence ranging from the acts of ordinary street criminals and the critical issues for corporate America, to the fear and mayhem from global terrorism.

While serving as consultant to the hospitality and transportation sectors of the travel industry he has played a leadership role in the development of higher standards of security for the traveling public. As a frequent contributor to the national dialogue on violence in the nation's classrooms and workplaces, he has helped to raise awareness on foreseeable risks of crime and has brought about change in how we see our duty to provide reasonable security in public schools and private and public institutions, and corporations. Whether serving a wide array of clients including the financial markets, the nation's food distribution sector, corporate America, or in the operation of our airports, he regularly offers insights and guidance that have earned for him a reputation as leader in the development of reasonable and effective security practices. In a recent article in the Oregonian, Professor Joseph Sweeney of the Fordham Law School described Charles Slepian as "pre-eminent in his field."

Charles Slepian is an attorney and the Founder of the Foreseeable Risk Analysis Center. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the City College of New York in Public Administration, a Masters from St. John's University in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from the Fordham Law School where he is currently a guest lecturer on Aviation Security.
