In 1987, identical twins Chip and Pepper Foster created a Canadian sportswear label (aptly named Chip & Pepper Wetwear) that grew into a multi-million dollar company. In 2003, they began their fashion renaissance in America by launching a high-end denim line that has become a cult favorite among celebrities and hipsters. Launched in the denim capital of Los Angeles, the vintage inspired collection merges novel washes and superior quality and fit. Each piece is as unpredictable and as full of life as their personalities, channeling the dynamic energy and cool buzz of its namesakes.

Prior to launching the brand, Chip and Pepper started a vintage goldmine in their store Golf Punk on Melrose Ave, in Los Angeles, CA. The priceless vintage denim they collected was a favorite of shoppers, but many noted that the utilitarian fits and cuts of the old classics did not flatter modern styles. Taking note, the duo recreated the washes and fabrics of vintage denim and paired them with current fits. The result was the creation of Chip & Pepper denim.

The lifestyle of the classic vintage denim is intricately recreated with the finest warp and wefts, using only the highest quality fabrics and American workmanship. A key element is using a denim making process similar to those used in the 1920s. Hand washed and individually stamped with its own serial number, Chip and Pepper denim guarantees originality. The result resurrects the life of the classic American jean with a modern twist.

Aptly declared "Young and Free," the collection is young at heart and free of inhibitions. But the Fosters are serious when it comes to denim. As Pepper describes their motivation, "There's meaning to everything we make, all inspired by life." The twins have used milestones, people, and their own brand of humor to inspire every thread and thought that goes into the Chip and Pepper collection.

The line's rapid popularity has expanded to include maternity, kids, knitwear, hats, leathergoods, and sportswear. The brand also includes Chip & Pepper University, a knit line incorporating vintage and original logos from more than 75 universities around the nation. Chip & Pepper is sold through select department and specialty stores in more than 42 countries, as well as in its retail locations in New York City's NoLita neighborhood, Dallas and Newport Beach, CA. The twins serve as the creative and business minds behind the company and the face of the brand itself. Their energetic personalities have landed them a gig hosting "The Look for Less" on E! Entertainment and the Style Network, and they also proudly serve as fashion correspondents for Extra, where they have covered everything from fashion week to landing Jessica Simpson's first post divorce on-camera interview.
