Sean Willmore

Inspired by the dedication of other park rangers who risked their lives to protect endangered animals, Australian park ranger, Sean Willmore, made a documentary called The Thin Green Line. His effort was to bring attention to the dangerous work these wildlife warriors undertook. Today The Thin Green Line Foundation looks after the welfare of rangers families where the ranger has been killed in the line of duty, and is also aiming to better equip rangers worldwide so that they have a greater chance of protecting both themselves and wild areas we all care about.

While global warming currently dominates environmental headlines, another battle rages to protect endangered animals and habitats in what remains of the world forests. The park rangers of these terrains search for illegal traps set by poachers, often dodging bullets from rebel troops.

Australian Park Ranger, Sean Willmore, was so inspired by their dedication that he sold his car and re-mortgaged his house to finance and make a documentary called The Thin Green Line. His effort to bring attention to the dangerous work undertaken by these wildlife warriors has won him international acclaim. Using the profits from his film Sean started The Thin Green Line Foundation which looks after the welfare of rangers families where the ranger has been killed in the line of duty - usually by poachers - and is also aiming to better equip rangers worldwide so that they have a greater chance of protecting both themselves and wild areas we all care about.

Sean has also ventured into the dangerous explosive Antarctic waters as part of a recent anti-whaling operation to prevent the slaughter of whales in an international whale sanctuary and to continue the challenge until diplomatic political intervention with Japan is achieved.
