Ron St. Angelo
Ron St. Angelo was selected by Nikon Camera in 2004 as one of their "Legends Behind the Lens" and traveled with Troy Aikman to Las Vegas t0 address the PMA International Photography Convention on his work with the Dallas Cowboys. Ron was also nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2004 for his work on the Historic NFL Record Breaking Rushing Title of Emmitt Smith. One of his original works is currently on permanent exhibit in the White House and acknowledged by President George W. Bush, Senator John McCain, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2004 for his work on the Historic NFL Record Breaking Rushing Title of Emmitt Smith, Ron St. Angelo has traveled a professional photography career only dreamed about by aspiring photographers. He was awarded his Master of Photography Degree in 1989 and traveled to China to instruct Chinese professional photographers on American techniques and methods. He was selected by Nikon Camera in 2004 as one of their "Legends Behind the Lens" and traveled with Troy Aikman to Las Vegas to address the PMA International Photography Convention on his work with the Dallas Cowboys. In 2008 along with the 2nd Edition release of his bestseller book, "Greatest Team Ever" the "Texas Stadium Commemorative Edition", he was selected to teach his technique as adjunct Professor of Photography at the prestigious Art Institute of Dallas.
His work is on Permanent Exhibition at Dallas Cowboys Headquarters and both Texas Stadium and the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In 2009, the Dallas Cowboys created the Ron St. Angelo Signature Collection to commemorate his work on the Team of the Decade Dynasty years of the 1990's Cowboys.
One of his original works is currently on permanent exhibit in the White House and acknowledged by President George W. Bush, Senator John McCain, and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. His career in photography dates to his participation in creating the photography department at Beaumont High School in 1965 and continued through two tours of combat duty in Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner's Mate and Boatswain's Mate on the USS Brinkley Bass, a Man-O-War Destroyer, and fought in the Tet Offensive in 1968.
His work for the Dallas Cowboys has been published in countless books and magazines over his twenty-five year career with the Dallas Cowboys. Hired by Tex Schramm in 1979, he went on to photograph Tom Landry for his Official NFL Hall of Fame Photograph and his work at Super Bowls XXVIII and XXX were chosen for the Official NFL Lithographs as the best photographs made at those two World Champion Title Games.
