Esther Orioli
Esther Orioli, M.S. , President and CEO of Essi Systems, Inc., is a consultant, author and founder of two successful international research and consulting firms. She is a recognized authority in leadership development, emotional intelligence, pioneering work in systems design, organizational mapping and behavior change technology.
Esther Orioli is the creator of the "StressMap" - if you can't measure it, you can't manage it, The "EQ Map" - the tool for those who mean business and "The Resiliency Map". - resiliency is the ability to bounce back after setbacks, remain adaptable and flexible and to re-invent yourself with each new experience. These traits have never been more important.
In 1983, Orioli founded Essi Systems Inc., specializing in transforming workplace stress into optimal performance. Orioli promoted the revolutionary idea of positive stress performance and developed the StressMap®, the stress assessment instrument honored with the National Health Information Award. The StressMap® has sold more than 500,000 copies.
Orioli's newest company, Q-Metrics LLC, was founded with Robert K. Cooper, Ph.D., co-author of the critically acclaimed book, Executive EQ: Emotional Intelligence in Leadership and Organizations. Orioli created the EQ Map® featured in Dr. Cooper's book, which has become the premier assessment instrument for emotional intelligence in business. The EQ Map® employs the mapping technology created by Orioli at Essi Systems.
Through Q-Metrics, a firm dedicated to managing and developing human intelligences at work, Orioli and her research team continue to explore this exciting field. Most recently, Orioli has been working with Dr. Michael Ray of Stanford University to develop the first CQ MapTM to measure creativity in business.
With more than 20 years of pioneering work in systems design, organizational mapping and behavior change technology, Orioli is a highly sought after speaker for organizations and conferences. An interactive presenter who creates an introspective learning environment for the audience, her most recent presentations were to Sun Microsystems, Arthur Andersen, the Professional Business Women's Conference in California and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has also presented to the American Psychological Association, AC Nielsen-Europe, the California Commission for Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST), and Sunrise Medical Inc.
Orioli's client list includes many of the leading companies across the United States and Europe, including Hewlett-Packard, 3M, Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Andersen, KPMG, Pepsi Cola, Coca-Cola, the U.S. Army, Kaiser Permanente, Charles Schwab, General Mills, and Homewood Health.

She was most recently quoted in Selling Power, the Dallas Morning News and Family Business Magazine. She has been published in such industry journals as Training, Employee Assistance, and The Personnel News. Along with Dr. Karen Trocki, Research Director, she co-authored work published through the American Psychological Association on gender differences and stress.
She received an M.S. in Humanistic Education from Marywood College, PA, and a B.A. in Education from the State University of New York.
