Manning is considered one of the sport's best quarterbacks. Since his retirement, he has made it a point to turn his celebrity into a successful career in the community. The New Orleans resident is Chairman of the Archie Manning Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament, former Honorary Head Coach of the Louisiana Special Olympics and serves on the board of the United Way Speaker's Bureau. It's not hard to see why Archie Manning was named the Most Popular Saint in franchise history. Despite playing for a perennial non-contender, Manning was chosen to participate in two Pro Bowls and was voted the league's Most Valuable Player in 1978.

Before going pro in 1971, the Mississippi native earned a scholarship to the University of Mississippi where he became an All-American quarterback. After a dozen years with the Saints, he played for Houston and Minnesota. Today, Manning is a commentator for radio and television stations in New Orleans.

He still enjoys football - especially on Sundays when you can find him with a divided screen, watching his sons Peyton, 2006 Superbowl MVP quarterback for the World Champion Indianapolis Colts, and Eli, quarterback for the New York Giants, follow in his footsteps.
