Joyce Coleman
As the nation's first black female officer and executive at a major airline, TWA, Joyce Coleman's mission is to inspire others to achieve their dreams. Joyce has worked with corporate management to develop and implement successful programs and has written numerous business articles on principal leadership and long-term success. She is author of the acclaimed book, Soul Stirrings: How Looking Back Gives Each Of Us The Freedom To Move Forward.

Joyce M. Coleman was raised in rural pre-civil rights Mississippi, where she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She graduated summa cum laude from Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS.
Among her many achievements, Joyce became the nation's first black female officer and executive at a major airline, TWA, was named to New York City's YWCA Academy of Women Achievers, received Career Focus Magazine's Eagle Award and has been listed in numerous Who's Who registries.
Coleman's corporate management works include developing and implementing immensely successful programs for corporations, universities, and other organizations. Her work has consistently earned high marks from internationally known third party audit companies and resulted in improved service and lower costs. She has led Best Practices in Customer Service conferences for a leading international training organization and was selected by the International Airline Travel Association to present her customer service strategies at a seminar at the Euro Disney facility in Paris. She has also written numerous business articles, many of which have been published widely by dot-com businesses. A recurrent theme in Coleman's writings is the strong correlation between principled leadership and long-term success.
Coleman's counts among her major accomplishments developing and managing a rock 'n' roll band, including a performance at the renowned Harley Davidson club and I Love New York festival in New York City. It serves as a reminder that dreams lead to reality.
Coleman is the author of the critically acclaimed book, "Soul Stirrings: How Looking Back Gives Each Of Us The Freedom To Move Forward", and a companion Study Guide for grades 4-12. She developed, produced and is currently performing "Porch Wisdom", a series of one-woman shows based on her book.
Coleman's mission is to inspire others to achieve their dreams. She credits her success to a strong work ethic based on family and faith and a "systems approach" to problem solving. She advocates self-acceptance, perseverance and continuous learning as a recipe for personal achievement.
