For more than two decades Bernice has dazzled audiences across the nation with her unique style and persona. She is a sought after television and radio talk show commentator and has been featured in movies, magazine articles and in news stories. Washington earned a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Missouri, is a registered Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP) Research Hospital and Medical Center-Kansas City, MO and has a Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology/Microbiology from Southern University-Baton Rouge, LA.

Bernice is the consummate civic citizen. She has served the State of Texas and the Dallas community in almost every volunteer capacity imaginable. She serves on the Board of Directors of many prestigious organizations. Current Board of Directors include Presbyterian Hospital of Plano; Texas Health Systems (Harris Methodist/Presbyterian Healthcare Systems- Secretary/Treasurer); Dallas Museum of Natural History; Salvation Army; The Dallas Opera (Marketing Committee Chair)and the Fort Worth Dallas Ballet (New Audience Development Committee Chair).

Often referred to as the "Energizer Bernice", her contributions have not gone unnoticed. Many coveted awards have been bestowed upon her in recognition of her outstanding civic contributions.

She is married to Lt. Col. (Ret.) Lymon Washington, Jr. for 27 years and has two children, Andrea Renee and Michael Benjamin.
