Suzie's background is as varied as her audiences...from administrative
secretary to Television Talk Show Host, to 20 years in radio. She has hobnobbed
with movie stars and politicians, interviewed the great and the "near" great.
She has made hundreds of commercials, done musical comedy and motion pictures.
She has been fired, been broke, been disappointed, been a petrified expectant
mother at 40 years old and lived her life with a passion for learning not only
how to be better, but to see things differently.
Suzie received one of the longest standing ovations on record from the
National Speakers Association when she spoke to 2,500 of her peers at their
convention in Palm Springs, California. At the time they invited her to speak,
she didn't even know who or what the organization was. As a matter of fact, she
didn't even have a brochure or a business card. When the phone rang, she
answered it. She was grounded in the philosophy that if someone seeks you out,
it must be meant for you to go! Today, she still subscribes to that theory. She
loves to go wherever she's sent!
Suzie Humphreys is about saying "yes" when it would be easier to say no! She
is about teaching others how to motivate themselves and to see life through the
eyes of optimism rather than fear and self doubt. She is about believing that
you can do anything you want to do and enjoy getting there, heartbreak and all!
Whether it is the challenge of change or acceptance...in relationships or
situations...in the home or on the job...Suzie Humphreys helps people to rise
to the occasion with all the vigor and enthusiasm that living this wonderful
life demands.
"Life is What Happens To You While You're Making Other
Plans"
You'll go with Suzie through five years of television, hob-knobbing the
"famous"...being fired...being broke ... getting divorced... getting married...
and having her only child at age 40. You'll hear about the riotous mistake on
her first day as a traffic reporter that brings uproarious laughter from the
audience and cements Suzie's success in radio for 20 years! You'll take a
roller coaster ride through her failures at breakneck speed, only to discover
at the end of the hip those very same failures turned out to be the "very best
things that ever happened to her". They served as the firm foundation for her
philosophy that IT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENS TO US IN LIFE THAT MATTERS, INSTEAD, IT
IS HOW WE LOOK AT IT!
"I Can Do That!"
Suzie has a way... with laughter, poignant stories and jump-start
inspiration... of confirming that fear doesn't have to be the motivating force
that guides us through out journey of life ... that fear that makes us stay in
careers that no longer bring us joy, and keeps us from reaching for those
dreams that constantly swirl in our imagination ... fear of failure ... fear of
success. Why do we become 'afraid' to say YES to life? Because we 'doubt" that
we can measure up to the assignment! We don't move forward immediately, because
we dunk we need to wait until the time is perfect. We say we will One Day! One
Day comes and goes and we are left behind regretting that it was not life that
passed us by at all ... rather our decision to LIVE IT! Suzie helps us to see
that "the time is already perfect" for whatever we want to do...all we have to
do is JUST DO IT!
"Please Pick Up After Yourself, Your Mother Doesn't Work
Here"
It all boils down to relationships! Suzie shares the most significant of
hers and frankly tells how she learned to focus what is 'right and good' about
others ... rather that what she had heretofore perceived as 'wrong and bad'. We
all have 'those people" in our lives ... the ones who are in out face and know
how to "push our buttons'. We meet her delightful and strong-willed mother, the
one she couldn't get along with for 34 years! --Her husband whom she adores ...
(she calls him John Wayne). There is the homeless woman, who through a brief
encounter, awakened Suzie's realization that ... Things can happen to you...
Things can happen, around you ... But the only thing that really counts is ...
WHAT HAPPENS IN YOU.
"Suzie: Where Is Your Faith?"
When, in the grip of fear, anger, or depression, all of us long to reach
out or up to someone or something that might pull us out of that black hole of
despair. Suzie shares her own stories and offers comfort and hope by revealing
that what we look for outwardly can, in reality, be found within. How to build
that limitless reserve of strength and use in any situation is Suzie's focus in
this presentation. Strongly recommended for spouse programs or women's
conferences. SUZIE: WHERE IS YOUR FAITH? is funny, yes ... but very deep in its
content and message to look beyond the obvious.
"Listen For The Laughter"
Finding the humor in the midst of desperation and anger is not an easy
task. Sometimes we are able to see it years later... in looking back. How
wonderful to see it during the chaos, "Listen for the Laughter" is about
finding light in the middle of the dark. It is about shifting the perception
that causes us to be afraid or angry or discontented. As always Suzie's stories
are probably yours told in a different voice.
