Ruben is the story of an individual who has relentlessly worked to live his
calling and make a great contribution to the world he lives in.
He has lived most of his life in search for meaning and in search for the
essential nature of being human. In the process, he has come to realize that a
person's potential does not reside outside of oneself. Instead, one's potential
is waiting to be revealed and expressed as an inherent reality of their life.
"Most people spend their lifetime looking for solutions to fulfill them. They
reach their deaths with great sadness and frustration realizing they failed to
find the fulfillment they so much wanted. How different would our world be if
most people realized instead that their fulfillment is nowhere to be found? How
much longer are we going to live looking for solutions that at best only pacify
our existential anxiety? When are we going to remember our true selves and
dance without reason?" - Ruben Perczek.
At the early age of seven, Ruben stepped onto a tennis court for the first
time. Just eight years later he had won over 50 tournaments, including 5
national championships. He turned pro at the age of 19 and competed in the
Davis Cup, representing the Colombian national team. While being a world ranked
professional tennis player, Ruben learned how to enter into a state of
awareness (commonly referred to by world class athletes as "the zone") where
levels of exceptional athletic performance become a reality.
At the age of 24, Ruben became a leading actor in prime time television, a
theatre producer and a stage actor in Los Angeles. Raising funds to create his
own production company, Ruben produced and acted in the West Coast version of
"One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest". His experience inspired Ruben to want to
deepen his understanding of what it means to be a human being and led to his
decision to study clinical psychology.
Ruben obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of
Miami and a postdoctoral fellowship from Stanford University as one of two
individuals accepted from over 400 worldwide applicants. Ruben practiced
clinical psychology at Stanford University with a focus on behavior science and
at the University of Miami as a professor, in addition to maintaining a private
clinical practice. Ruben continues to maintain good standing as a licensed
clinical psychologist.
Ruben is currently the Director of the Perczek Leadership Center, a company
dedicated to developing the leaders of tomorrow both at the individual and
corporate level.
"I do not believe in a person discovering their potential. My approach is to
guide an individual to look within his or herself to uncover the potential that
is already inside and allow it to unfold in the most natural and authentic
way" - Ruben Perczek.
Peak Performance - From Ordinary Results To Sustained Peak Performance:
There is a kind of person whom many of us admire: one who stands for a cause
greater than themselves, such as Mandela, Gandhi or Mother Teresa. This kind of
individual may also be a Nobel Prize winner or a lifetime achievement award
recipient at the Oscars. By unanimous agreement, they are exceptional at what
they do and are considered peak performers by anyone's standard. As exceptional
as they are perceived, they have also seemed to be separate from most people,
beings who somehow are different from most others in society.
In this inspirational program by peak performance expert Ruben Perczek, the
audience will learn how ordinary people can transform themselves to execute
sustained peak performance. The main messages of the program are:
· If you look for your accomplishments to define who you are and make you
whole, you will be looking forever.
· We've agreed to play the game of nothing is ever enough - we've agreed we are
not enough until we meet certain standards and expectations. This is a
never-ending cycle.
· Extraordinary achievement is about letting go of the outcome and learning to
persist in the not-knowing.
Leadership - Building Leadership In You, Your People And Your Organization:
To be a leader you must challenge your internal self, be deeply acquainted with
who you are and efficiently integrate your commitments and actions with your
values and purpose. Building Leadership is a process of understanding both your
internal experiences and the external application of that experience.
In this extraordinary program, Ruben explains an integral approach to
leadership development that focuses equally on the internal developmental
factors that are keys to successful leadership with the objective processes and
metrics that are the mainstay of the corporate environment.
How does my internal leadership express itself in the organization, among my
peers, in my corporate culture and ultimately in my measured accomplishments?
This simple framework is intended to take you, your organization, your people
and your teams to your highest level of Leadership possible.
Main Messages:
· The ability to master one's context is crucial to get results. It is not
sufficient, however, for engaging and motivating others to create sustained
achievement and a highly motivated workforce.
· Becoming a leader is not only about achievement but about your persistence,
resilience and self-reflective capacity and how you translate that into
meaningful results.
· What does it take to become an exceptional leader and the power of
not-knowing.
Inspiration - Awakening The Extraordinary:
Is an invitation to awaken your best life. This exploratory experience will
focus on awakening the extraordinary in ordinary human beings. Ruben uses both
conceptual and experiential means for participants to expand understanding and
promote growth. This talk will help you establish a framework of understanding
that both supports and expresses your highest potential.
Arising from life experience as a tennis champion, actor and clinical
psychologist working with those at the end of life, Ruben helps to motivate and
inspire the audience to awaken to who they are and live a life that is truly
their own; a life that is authentic reflection of their highest potential!
Main Messages:
· If you look for your accomplishments to define who you are and make you
whole, you will be looking forever.
· We've agreed to play the game of nothing is ever enough - we've agreed we are
not enough until we meet certain standards and expectations. This is a
never-ending cycle.
· Extraordinary fulfillment is largely determined by letting go of the
unnecessary and being simply with the reality in front of your eyes.
